BAPTISM

infant baptism with family surrounding the font

Through the sacrament of baptism, a person is initiated into the Church and its faith, life and hope.  At CCML, baptism is offered to infants, children, youth and adults.  Baptism with water and the Holy Spirit is the sign and seal of our common discipleship.  It is a gift of God.

Baptism is a personal celebration in the lives of individuals and their families as well as a special event for the whole church family which commits to support and journey with the one baptized.  For this reason, baptism is celebrated in the presence of the faith community gathered for worship.

More details about Baptism can be found here.

TIMES OF LOSS

The Community Church offers many resources including pastoral care, grief counseling, Stephen Ministers and funeral and memorial celebrations to assist folks as they live through life events and times of loss.

Our funeral and memorial celebrations are focused on celebrating life, both the gift of life that comes from God and the particular life of the departed loved one. They include prayers, scripture readings, words of reflection and music that lifts up the presence and power of God in matters of life and death, and particularly in the life of the deceased.  They are a service not only of mourning but also a celebration of life and of hope in the promises of God.  Either may be followed by a service of committal at a cemetery or in our memorial garden.

To inquire about pastoral services related to loss, or to request our Funeral/Memorial Packet, please call our Church Office at (973) 334-6500.
