At The Community Church, music helps everyone share in the spirit of God.  You’ll hear traditional hymns, melodic choir arrangements, children’s pieces, and bell choirs.  We also have groups for Liturgical Dance and Composition Club. All are invited to join the choirs and special groups.

If you are interested in sharing your gift of music with the congregation or if you or your child is interested in private lessons please contact Rev. Dr. Debra Duke.

Composition Club is open to children from first grade through high school. Classes are held on Zoom, and the project for this winter will be to write songs that can be used during the Easter season. The goal is to work on songwriting, creating music, singing, and theory, and for children to feel accomplishment in creating their own music. For the season of Lent, Composition Club meets on Tuesdays, from 4:30 - 5:15. Contact Ms. Hazel for more information or to get the link for Composition Club.

The chancel choir sings weekly at the 10:00 am Sunday morning worship. It is comprised of singers of all ages, from 10th grade on.  The choir rehearses at 8:30 am on Sunday mornings, before worship, preparing a variety of music to enhance our worship.

This group of wonderful bell ringers truly adds a joyful noise to the sanctuary.  They rehearse Sunday mornings at 9:15 am and play in worship monthly. Contact Rev. Duke for more information.

There is a place for everyone in a choir! Cherub Choir is for kids K-3rd grade. The Gloria Choir is for youth 4th-9th grade.  Both choirs sing in worship once or twice a month. Contact Ms. Sue to learn more or to join a children's choir.

Liturgical Dance is for any children and youth interested in dance.  Our Liturgical Dancers dance in worship six or seven times per year.  They rehearse as needed leading up to their dance in worship. Contact Ms. Sue to learn more or to join our Liturgical Dancers.

In addition to our regular ensembles, we enhance worship with a variety of instruments for holidays and special celebrations, as well as a variety of small ensemble performances throughout the summer.
